Some people have multiple apple products which they have around them at any given time. When you have them setup correctly they are all interconnected with each other. This can mean that you get a phone call and all of a sudden all your devices are ringing. One way to get around this is by updating the sound file on some devices to have a blank sound file. This means you still get the popup notifications but do not hear any sound. This can be useful if you want to send/receive calls from your iPad but don’t want any sounds as your phone is always nearby.
